My Vision for Christian Enterprise - 2012
Steven Lawrence D’Souza
While the earlier rhetoric was about a glorious past, today’s vision is about a glorious future” said Mukesh Ambani – richest Indian in the world, head of the world’s largest shareholding company, Reliance Industries Limited, in his speech at the Economic Times awards function held in Mumbai on December 26, 2011.
Many of us still remember an anecdote by the CEO of the only profitable Indian airline today - INDIGO, in his acceptance speech. The airline industry is going through a troubled phase. But Indigo Airlines managed to come out a winner despite the distress. Accepting the award, a visibly moved Rahul Bhatia, the company’s founder, shared the secret behind the company’s success narrating the story of six friends who were confronted by a tiger. When one of them started digging out his running sneakers, his colleagues incredulously asked him how he planned to outrun the tiger. “I don’t have to run faster than the tiger; I only have to run faster than you”, was his reply.
